Whose shit can be as expensive as gold, people will think it’s ridiculous. While the successful auction of Piero Manzoni’s work named “Artist’s shit” tell us it’s really exists, and that artist is Piero Manzoni, who has lots of works been exhibited around the world. People will wondering why the world accept this concept and even consider it is important, today I will illustrate my opinions.

Firstly, he is a very creative artist who has lots of innovative ideas and creates some unique work. From the material he use we can see, he never follow the mainstream and willing to break it. Reviewing the history of the humanity development, we can see innovation is very important which is the driving force for social advance, and is the first productive force. Moreover all the countries encourage people to try new things, then the works related to innovation becomes popular is very easy to understand.

Secondly, Piero Manzoni has very strong environmental protection consciousness, he object the mass production and consumerism, as we all know, the economic development is often at the expense of environment, he used his arts to communicate with the people to tell them the importance of protecting our earth our home. With the fast developing of the economic, pollution becomes a more and more vital issue now, all the countries around the world appeal to people to protect environment and cherish resources. Manzoni’s concept just meets this requirement, therefor been valued and carried forward.

To sum up, Innovation is the soul of a nation’s progress and environmental protection is the global issue nowadays, and Manzoni’s works just meet these two themes, so it’s not difficult to understand why his concept been accepted and considered important.
