Film Big Trouble in little China

Film Big Trouble in little China

To answer all the questions, I first would like to express my opinion as a Chinese, in terms of a film, it’s an OK production, however, when we look at the ideology side, this film is a terrible one. Since strong prototyping is used to describe the conflict in Chinatown, I would even feel offended by this film.

The spatial image film leaves an impression of a separation of culture. American is believed a melting pot, however, by setting these small ethnic enclaves, it somewhat hurt the culture communication. It’s not strange for us to find some people came to America and worked for the money so that they could bring their family to the U.S. only to find them unable to speak English at all. This film focuses heavily on the issue by using visual impact and story line to show that how these enclaves separate the culture interaction.

However, humanity has its own way to deal with things, these living codes aren’t necessarily right, but there’s no need to push these with such sarcastic. A film is based on the true event, and they supposed to show the conflict in an exaggerated fashion, but I don’t believe this is the right way. Especially, when we are living in a time that film works should follow the ethical code to respect each society’s value. To a certain point, we see Chinese people live the way in the film, but we also see people working on Wall Street and even in congress that had already blended into the society very well, and to put them into this category that’s conservative and superstitious are somewhat uncomfortable for me.

However, this is typical for the film industry in early 1990 with the rise of the Hong Kong film industry. It reminds me a lot of films I saw when I was young.
