What Does the Museum Tolerance Tell Us
No one will deny that history is the reflection of a country that contains the lessons concluded from the history and foundation that is combined with the reality for the further development. It is obvious that we can obtain the materials of history in the museums established by the government or privates to express the memory to human beings. The reason is that the museum contains the original and authentic the recordation of history events. What we can receive and learn from a museum is the history of a country or some splendid and painful time. Besides, historical relics and overlook the ups and downs of the history remain the examination of a long time and tell stories to human beings at present. I have been visited the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. I have been received a huge amount of significant information and inspiration that were beyond my expectation. The purpose of this paper is to pay attention to what I have received and learned from the Museum of Tolerance.
First and foremost, the theme of the Museum of Tolerance is tolerance for history and the mistake of human beings which is the first one in this aspect in the world at present. It is set up in the year of 1993. The purpose of establishing this museum is to advocate the respect and understanding to education and the relationship of the community’s parties and the participation of the citizens. The introduction of this museum said that “the Museum of Tolerance have been received five million visitors, and middle, and high school students plan an important role at present.” (The Museum of Tolerance) There are five parts in the exhibition of this museum. They are Holocaust Section, Tolerancenter, Anne, Finding our Families, Finding Ourselves, and Special Exhibitions. Undoubtedly, the large number of facts of massacres are listed and presented in the part of the Holocaust Section, which narrates the survivors specifically. Human beings who visit this part are moved and enhanced the understanding of the history owing to visit the influential part in the museum.
Moreover, one of the most significance and astonishing part in the museum is the part of Anne. It contains the story of a little girl named Anne who is Jewess and persecuted by Nazi. The life of Anne detailed presented in this part that she endured the life with her families and how she personality turned from naïve to mature in the two years for avoiding the arresting of Nazi. They do not have the basic freedom and rights as other people such as cooking, lighting or even speaking loudly. At that time, all her feelings, experiences and painful were showed and expressed to her diary. Because she did not want to complain to her parents and enhanced the burden and pressure to them. Unfortunately, her families except her father were killed in the war. Her diary was not discovered by her father until the war was finished. He made efforts to publish her daughter’s diary named The Diary of Anne Frank. The meaning of the part in the museum is to express the pain of the children in other countries who experienced the persecution and unbalanced treatment of other countries. It is obvious that wars are the action of antihuman and must be forbidden in the world nowadays. It is the valuable meaning conveyed from the Museum of Tolerance.
It is time to make a conclusion. The Museum of Tolerance conveys the meaningful information and history to human beings. The tolerance means equality that every race and human beings no matter in more developed countries or less developed countries or even poverty regions should be treated in the same ways and enjoys the same rights.
