The Developed Country Plays a Significant Role

No one will deny that a great number of children are doing jobs that hinder their rights of receiving education, life developing and further. This situation leads to the insufferable violation to children, to the long-term poverty, and to the harmful of increasing of the economy and the equality development. Even though most of the countries establish laws and regulation to preventing child labor, the phenomenon of child labor still exist all around the world. It is safe to say that the phenomenon of child labor does not receive effective limitation and regulation in most of the countries in the world. Hence, eliminating the issue of child labor is the target for the international society. The international society come to the same recognition to the issue of child labor that the work of child labor represents the severely threaten to the sustainable development economy and the society of every place in the world. However, the methods of preventing the issue of child labor drastically, the reasons for leading to the child labor and the profound law and regulation to punish the factories employ children are significant questions to be discussed and performed in the worldwide. Obviously, the developed countries should be the leading in solving the problem of child labor. For example, the United States and Canada are two of the most developed countries in the world. They are the significant forces to preventing the actions which are harm to the right of children in the world. It should be promoted that clothing and other things produced by child labor should not be imported by the developed countries such as the United States and Canada.

First and foremost, the clothing and other things produced by the children could not maintain the excellent quality level. Child labor refers to the workers who are employed by the employees when they are under the age of eighteen. The reason that the factories employ children to do work is because “children were useful as laborers because their size allowed them to move in small spaces in factories or mines where adults couldn’t fit.” (Child Labor) However, the phenomenon of child labor is still the significant issue influences the basic right and health of children. In the law and regulation of every country, the term of preventing employing child labor is specifically listed. According to the physiological factor of children, they do not grow up effectively and healthy when they are under the age of eighteen. However, the work of producing the clothing and other things such as main parts of the smartphone are both the high-strength works. Hence, the quality of these goods produced by child labor is inferior to it made by adult workers. If the clothing and other things produced by child labor imported by the United States and Canada, it will create the great number of time, money, and human resources to solve the problems after sales. Still, these goods made by children imported from the less developed countries may influence the mark of the companies if they are exported to other countries. Besides, the condition of the factory does harm to the growing of children. It is obviously that the orders of the United States and Canada are the main support of the economy of the less developed countries. The fundamental method of preventing child labor is to decrease the orders from developed countries. Also, the companies in the United States and Canada should establish serious regulations to supervise that forbid the employing of child labor.

Moreover, clothing and other things produced by child labor should not import from the Unites States and Canada because it may intensify the problem of employing child labor in less developed countries. The severely results influenced by the importation of the Unites States and Canada could reflect from two aspects: one is the mass employment of child labor, and the other one is deep damage to the health and right of children in poverty countries. The Unites States and Canada are two of the leading powers in importing goods from other countries of in the reason of the things produced by child labor has the market is because the developed countries need them as the lower prices and large quantity. Besides, the developed countries dominate the main powerful in economy and politics in the world. On one hand, a great number of children who are receiving education in school will be attracted and employed by the factories that obtain the big orders from the United States and Canada. In addition to the inferior of the education quality in the less developed countries and the poverty of the families, more and more children will participate in the jobs which should not employ them. On the other hand, the materials of producing clothing and other things such as plastic goods could damage the health of children. For example, the clothes nowadays are made by the new kinds of materials especially the dying materials could influence the health of children. The material of plastic is the most severe element that damages the body of the children that the immune systems of them are not established profoundly.  Even, a lot of factories producing coal and other metal materials could harm to the breathing system that will lead to the pneumoconiosis. “Risks may be greater for children at various stages of development and may have long-term effects.” (Child Labor Public Education Project) These problems are both result from the employing of the child labor which motivated by the big orders of the developed countries.

Last but not least, clothing and other things produced by child labor should not be imported into the United States and Canada still owing to the reason that it encourages other social problems such as human trafficking and the lower quality of the population. On one will deny that the children are the future for a family especially for the families in the less developed countries. They burden the responsibility of changing the fate of the poverty of their family. So, they are encouraged to receive education in school. However, as the increasing of the children in their family, the education fee could not provide by their parents. They are attracted by the factories that employ poor children under the age eighteen to gain money to support their families. Resulting from the great need of the cheap labor power concentrated by children, a great number of child labor will be trafficked from other places to the factories. Besides, children from poor families are willing to go to other countries that provide a job for them by the method of illegal. Some of them still have the potential of losing a life on the way of smuggling human beings. Meanwhile, due to the younger age of children departing from the school and participating the heavy works, they could not learn more knowledge from school and not do well in skillful jobs I when they grow up enough to support their families. The only ways for them to earn money are to do the high-intensity and low-wages work all the lifelong. “There is a negative impact of being a child laborer on the individuals’ adult earnings. This negative effect ceases around ages 12-14, and there appear to be positive impacts on adult earnings from adolescent labor. It is hard for them to obtain the opportunities to change their life and their generations’ life.” (Emerson, Souza 25) Because of the desiring for the money, some of them do not have another choice but to break the law and regulation of the country. All these social problems both result from the demand of the economy benefits no matter for the less developed countries and the more developed countries.

It is time to make a conclusion. No one will deny that the development of the international economy relies on the developed countries and the less developed countries. Specifically, the poverty countries play an important role in the development of the developed countries. They need the developing countries to be the factories and the market. However, the United States and Canada should not import clothing and other things produced by child labor. For one thing, it should establish strict supervision to limit the employing of child labor if the developed countries obtain the orders. It not only benefit for the right of children but also for the United States and Canada. For another, the United Nations should establish law and regulation to punish the countries that are allowing the factories employing child labor. Besides, the education system and quality in these countries should be promoted further to maintain the right of children receiving education and change their life. “Improvement in the child’s schooling opportunities through the provision of good schools and increased access to them is one of the most effective ways of combating child labor.” (Ranjan Ray16) Moreover, the developed countries such as the United States and Canada should play a significant role in preventing the issue of child labor. The first step is to refuse to import goods produced by children. Only in these ways can the world eliminate the phenomenon of child labor.
