The Liberal Feminist and the Radical Feminist

The issue of feminist is a permanent problem in the human society. Feminist is a social theory and political movement which aims at finishing the sexism, sexual exploitation, and sexual oppression and promotes the equality of sex hierarchy. However, with the development of the society, the different thoughts of feminist appeared and influenced human beings directly and seriously. In these schools of thoughts, we could not overlook the Liberal Feminist and the Radical Feminist. It is meaningful to put them together to compare the similarities and the differences between them.

First and foremost, the similarities of the Liberal Feminist and the Radical Feminist can be reflected from the ultimate goal and the struggle objects. On one hand, all the schools of thoughts of feminist are both struggle for the equality rights and position of female in the society and family. Their ultimate goals are to obtain a real equality society for male and female no matter in society or family life and work or sex. They believe that women still have the ability to achieve more success than men. Besides, the female has the right to pursue the dominated role in sex. On the other hand, the struggle objects of not only the Liberal Feminist but also the Radical Feminist are the society dominated by the right of the male. They doubt the holiness of the power of male and eager to get rid of the control of male and the shaped role to female. They believe that all the miseries and pains are aroused and put on a female by the male dominated society.

Moreover, the differences between these two feminists are mainly reflected from their proportions. For one thing, the Liberal Feminist promotes to revolt mildly instead of severely and radically. It advocates that everyone both have a reason after receiving education, so no matter female and male should be treated equally. For another thing, the Radical Feminist argues that the oppressions shouldered by the female are the oldest and the deepest exploitation which is fundamental of the oppressions. “Radical Feminism acknowledges that there are differences between men and women, and society should change to value those differences instead of devaluing the ‘feminine’.” (Beep boop) .They are eager to pursue a radical method that helps female get rid of operations. The topics they discuss are the sex role, love, marriage, family, pregnancy, and violent and so on which have a close relation with a female. The radical can be reflected from they can break deeply with a male. So they advocate the marriage with a homosexual.

The similarities between them are their goals and the objectives of movements. The differences of them are the scope and degree of their struggles.
